This comprehensive Physical Therapy Aide Program prepares students for the growing field of physical therapy. The physical therapy aide is generally responsible for carrying out the non-technical duties of physical therapy, such as preparing treatment areas, ordering devices and supplies, and transporting patients, while working under the direction of the physical therapist. Furthermore, these workers assist physical therapists in providing services to help improve patient mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. This program prepares students as chiropractic assistants in the expanding field of chiropractic healthcare through both classroom presentations
and hands-on labs. The student will receive an overview of administrative front-office duties, chiropractic and patient education issues, anatomy and
physiology, chiropractic terminology, chiropractic billing & coding, and the legal aspects of chiropractic care. Additionally, students will review
"therapeutic skills" including massage basics, vital signs, T.E.N.S., ultrasound, cryotherapy, and other therapeutic modalities. The program prepares students for an externship

Ophthalmic Assistant
The Ophthalmic Assistant Program prepares students for entry-level positions in ophthalmology, one of the fastest growing healthcare segments. Through classroom presentations and labs, this program includes anatomy and physiology of the eye, general principles of pharmacology, prescriptions written for the eye, visual acuity, and tonometry (basic) and glaucoma. The course also includes a review of ocular dressing procedures, maintenance of equipment and instruments, and other areas. Veterinary Assistant
This Veterinary Assistant Program introduces students to the exciting and growing field of veterinary medicine. Students will learn about the care of animals and how to recognize signs of illness and disease. This program also covers interpersonal communication, interaction with clients and their animals, as well as how to assist the veterinarian during examinations. Administrative duties, such as fee collection, banking, and accounts payable are also emphasized to provide the student with the skills necessary to maintain an efficient front office. Students will enjoy learning through classroom lecture as well as hands-on labs. Note: this program does not include a national or state certification or a clinical rotation as part of its overall objectives.
